Switzerland (as a member of EFTA) has signed a Free Trade Agreement with Chile in 2003 granting Swiss goods a preferential access to the Chilean market. Chile furthermore has an efficient import system which offers a competitive framework for Swiss companies exporting to Chile.

The Swiss quality label is well perceived in Chile nonetheless Swiss products are not widely known today. There are appealing business opportunities in fields such as medical technology, pharmaceutical goods, the renewable energies sector as well as for investment goods.

The planned trip to Santiago de Chile is intended to enable Swiss companies to gain their own impression on the spot of the local industry and to determine how they might capitalize on the different market potentials.

Pool Of Experts is an online directory of experts who are able to support Swiss and Liechtensteiner small- and medium size enterprises (SME) in building their international business. The Pool Of Experts offers a quick and transparent tool for the preselection of experts. The gateway is actively promoted to Swiss SME interested in a global expansion.

Background

2002 Pool Of Experts (first generation) has been initiated by Osec Business Network Switzerland under a mandate from the Swiss government.
In a separate effort, a Joint Venture Businesswiss was formed by its four Venture Partners Fargate AG, and Flare International, Media Taskforce and Headwire in 2003 to provide an easy access contact database for Swiss SME (KMU) to international experts.
2004 the two ventures joined to form the new Pool Of Experts. In October 05 the Pool Of Experts online expert platform was launched as a joint venture of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, Fargate AG, Flare International and Osec Business Network Switzerland.
By end 2007 the preliminary start-up phase has been accomplished. Since the operative functionality did not justify the involvement of a Steering Committee any more, the four joint venture partners decided to restructure the board and integrate the Pool Of Experts into Osec’s product portfolio.
