Official Osec Expert

What is an Official Osec Expert?

Subisidiarity is a central feature of the service agreement on export promotion concluded between SECO and Osec. By subsidiarity, we understand a) that we focus Osec's services on those tasks for which there is demand but no private supply (market failure) and b) that we integrate qualified private suppliers into the execution of the mandate for the provision of commercial orders.

This concept resulted in the establishment nearly three years ago of what is now the Pool of Experts. With a view to continuous development, we have now decided to bring in a further category of experts (in addition to the normal PoE members) – a category known as "Official Osec Experts" (OOE). By introducing this category we hope to achieve even greater transparency and commitment in the execution of our mandate and in terms of communicating with our clients – Swiss and Liechtenstein SMEs.

An OOE differs from a member of the PoE in that it has successfully completed an accreditation procedure.

The conditions to apply for accreditation are:

  • PoE membership through at least one employee of the applying company
  • Successful execution of at least one project together with Osec or the SBH within the last 24 months at the moment of application
  • Positive written customer feedback
  • Positive written feedback of Osec consultant/SBH
  • Payment of 15% platform contribution
  • Signature of the Agreement

Accreditation is carried out at company level. This means that the company, which can legally join the PoE, is accredited.

Why platform contribution?
Fundamentally, the platform contribution is applicable only to mandates initiated by means of Osec's Basic Consulting module. Orders gained directly via the www.poolofexperts.ch Internet platform are not subject to the platform contribution. There are two main reasons for introducing the performance-related platform contribution:

  1. Osec relies on receiving third-party funding for the professional operation and, in particular, further development of its international expert platform (including any necessary advance payments and support). This third-party funding is met/guaranteed by sponsors, membership fees and now also by platform contributions.
  2. The payment of a contribution to expenses in the case of a successful business introduction is the most effective means of protecting those of our external experts who carry out mandates from being accused of illegally enriching themselves by utilizing tax revenues.
